AFC East Free Agency Carousel

NFL free agency can be wild at times. Most of the time players who enter free agency tend to move out of their respective divisions. However, most of the free agents in the AFC East (Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New England Patriots) have stayed in that division.

Bills:

The Buffalo Bills signed former Patriot running back Damien Harris to a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport. With injuries and Rhamondre Stevenson taking over the RB1 spot in New England, Harris only had 462 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

The Bills have also signed wide receiver Trent Sherfield (Dolphins). Sherfield had his best season yet last year with Miami, tallying up 30 catches for 417 yards and two touchdowns.

Dolphins:

The Miami Dolphins have signed quarterback Mike White (Jets) to backup Tua Tagovailoa to a one-year deal. White has started seven games in his NFL career. He has thrown for 2,145 yards, eight touchdowns and has a 75.4 passer rating.

The Dolphins signed punter Jake Bailey (Patriots) and wide receiver Braxton Berrios (Jets). Berrios played his first four seasons with the Jets. There he caught 107 passes for 1,085 yards and five touchdowns. Berrios is also an active player on special teams.

The Dolphins have also signed six-year veteran guard Dan Feeney, also from the Jets.

Jets:

The Jets have signed 37-year old punter Thomas Morstead to a one-year deal. Morstead spent last season with the Miami Dolphins.

Patriots:

The New England Patriots have signed tight end Mike Gesicki (Dolphins) to a one-year deal worth up to $9 million. The Patriots signed Gesicki after trading tight end Jonnu Smith to the Atlanta Falcons for a seventh-round pick. Gesicki’s production with the Dolphins dramatically decreased last year with just 362 yards and five touchdowns, while averaging only 21 yards per game.

The Patriots also signed running back James Robinson who spent last season with the Jets, to a two-year deal worth up to $8 million. Robinson signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He rushed for 1,079 yards in his rookie season. Robinson was traded to the Jets in 2022 and only appeared in four games. He tallied up 425 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 110 carries.
