Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been named the NBA MVP for the 2022-23 season.

Embiid claimed 73 first place votes, beating out back-to-back winner Nikola Jokic. Milwaukee forward Gainnis Antetokounmpo finished third.

For the past two years, Embiid finished runner up to Jokic.

Embiid led the league in scoring for the second consecutive year (33.1 points per game). He had 13 games where he eclipsed the 40-point mark.
