Celtics Force Game 5

Miami (AP) – The Boston Celtics used a dominant second half to avoid a sweep by the Miami Heat. The Celtics grabbed the Game 4 victory by a score of 116-99.

The Heat led by nine points in the opening quarter and held the lead for the majority of the game as they head into the locker room with a 56-50 lead.

Max Strus hit a three-point shot early in the third quarter to give the Heat a 61-52 lead. The Celtics went on an 18-0 run that took just over three minutes to grab a 70-61 lead. Celtics All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum contributed nine points during the run. Miami got within four of the Celtics, but seven points in 40 seconds gave Boston the edge (88-79) over Miami heading to the fourth quarter.

The Heat closed their deficit to five in the fourth quarter but another run by the Celtics had them up by 17, essentially sealing the game and forcing Game 5.

UP NEXT… Game 5 will take place in Boston on Thursday, May 25. Tip-off is at 8:30 p.m.
