Vikings to Release Cook

The Minnesota Vikings are planning to cut running back Dalvin Cook, per Adam Schefter.

Cook, who signed a five-year, $63 million deal in 2020, made his fourth Pro Bowl in 2022 after rushing for 1,173 yards, and eight touchdowns.

Per Schefter, the Vikings will attempt to trade Cook one more time today and will officially release him on Friday if they fail to do so. The Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos are two teams expected to have high interest in Dalvin Cook.

The Vikings will save $9 million in cap, but will take on a dead cap hit of $5.1 million.
